Bentley creates bespoke Le Mans Bentayga to compliment owners’ Le Mans Collection Continental GT

Apex Edition Bentley Bentayga

Bentley enthusiast and collector, Mark King, takes delivery of his Apex Edition Bentayga. One of just twenty units handcrafted by Mulliner to match the livery and trim of his 2023 Le Mans Collection Continental GT. The Le Mans Collection Continental GT itself was also limited production. It was created to celebrate 20 years since Bentley’s 6th victory and return to victory at Le Mans in 2003 after a 73-year absence from winning the top of the podium.

The Apex Edition Bentyaga was offered in six curated colors and trim themes. However, the Verdant green and Moonbeam livery of Mr. King’s Bentayga was only available to existing customers of Le Mans Collection owners.

The Apex Edition Bentayga is based on the Bentayga S, which is the sportier trim of the Bentayga line. It features a 4.0-litre, twin-scroll turbocharged V8 engine, producing 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft (770 Nm) of torque, resulting in a 0-60 time in 4.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5 secs) and a top speed of 180mph (290 km/h). The Apex Edition Bentayga features Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll control and rear-wheel steering for incredible handling. Another great option as standard is the free-flowing sport exhaust, which allows for the best possible snarl from the V8.

On top of the standard features of the Bentayga S, the Apex Edition includes ultra-strong 22” Mulliner carbon wheels that reduce weight by 44 kg in unsprung mass, resulting in greater steering agility. Additionally, the Apex Edition includes carbon-ceramic brakes for better braking and a fade-free braking experience. Specific to Mr. King’s Apex Edition is the stunning Le Mans-inspired livery, which includes our favorite feature, the number 7 on the matrix grille. One of our favorite touches that Bentley has introduced.

The matrix grille is featured in Beluga black and has the #7 painted in Arctica white as a nod and to match the iconic #7 Speed 8. Other noticeable features include black 22-inch ten-spoke wheels featuring carbon ceramic brakes and red brake calipers.

All of the units in the Le Mans Collection feature a six-wreath emblem inlaid into a high-gloss carbon fiber fascia, marking each of Bentley's six victories at Le Mans between 1924 and 2003. But the highlight of the Le Mans Collection is the three-way Bentley Rotating Display, which revolves to reveal a central vitrine with a section of engine valve directly taken from the winning 2003 Speed 8.

Mr. King’s Stable

Other notable Bentleys owned by Mr. King include a Bentayga Speed, Continental GT3-R, and a Continental Flying Spur. Mr. King is an avid Bentley enthusiast and uses his cars daily. His Bentayga Speed has over 100,000 miles and is often used to trailer other vehicles from his collection to show. We love to see a well-used car above 100,000 miles as it is a real testimate to the owners love for the vehicle.
