Incredible One-Off Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2 Wagon heads to auction
2013 Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2
It heads to auction on March 29th with Dore & Rees at LOT 119
Wagons are perhaps one of the most beautiful automotive body styles that, sadly (especially in the United States), are becoming increasingly rare. Which, while disappointing, makes something like this so unique and rare. Headed to auction with Dore & Rees on March 29th, 2025 is this incredible, one-off 2013 Aston Martin Berton Jet 2+2.
The Jet 2+2 is a bespoke design commissioned to designer Bertone with the full endorsement of Aston Martin Ltd. It is the only example from Bertone and happens to be the final creation of the design house as the other 10 examples that were commissioned were never built. The Jet 2+2 is the dream of Barry Weir, who was the first person to circumnavigate the world in a classic Aston Martin DB2/4. Mr. Weir commissioned the car and worked with Bertone using Bertone’s own 2004 Jet 2 concept as inspiration. (pictured below)
The 2013 Jet 2+2 would take the 2004 Jet 2 stunning shooting brake concept and apply the same design language to the Aston Martin Rapide. The result was a stunning, practical wagon that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show to great fanfare. So much so that it caught the attention of Aston Martin chief designer Marek Reichman, and CEO Ulrich Bez. So much so that both the Jet 2 and Jet 2+2 joined the original 1961 Bertone Jet at Aston Martin’s Centenary Celebrations at Kensington Palace.

The foundation of the 2013 Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2 is Aston Martin’s familiar Rapide sedan but with an extended roofline and reworked proportions that not only enhance the design but also bring additional practicality. The roof features a full-length panoramic dimmable glass roof that is activated by a button to let in natural light or keep things cool with a deep blue shade. The rear seats can fold flat electronically to allow extended load space. The interior is also bespoke, featuring softer leather than a standard Rapide, finished in two-tone Cream Truffle and Obsidian Black. For the passengers in the rear, the front seats were slimmed down to allow for extra legroom.

Mechanically, the 2013 Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2 uses the storied 6.0-lire V12 from the Rapide and features 476bhp, 443 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds. It heads to auction with only 24,169 recorded miles.
This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own such a stunning piece of automotive history. The Jet 2+2 is sure to snap necks on any outing and gain plenty of praise at any concourse.
